Body of fisherman recovered in St. Johns County
The body of a fisherman who fell from an Intracoastal Waterway dock this morning in St. Johns County has been recovered.
The St Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6900 block of A1A South in Crescent Beach shortly before 5 a.m. after a man fell into the water while fishing with two others, said Sgt. Chuck Mulligan of the Sheriff’s Office. Divers located the body about 7:20 a.m.
Mulligan said there is no early indication of foul play. He said two men with the victim heard a splash in the dark and turned to find the other angler gone. The victim, believed to be in his 50s, was found in shallow water.
An autopsy will be conducted. The victim’s identity is being witheld pending notification of next of kin.
